This outstanding leader, and data scientist will be a member of Neuroscience Data Science and Digital Health's Digital and AI measures team, working to optimize the precision measurement strategy for our drug development pipelines in Neurodegeneration. Envisioning the future, you will work with a dedicated, cross-functional team, including regulatory, clinical development, patient reported outcomes, biomarkers and translational teams to establishing the paths for precision medicines enabled by advances in measurement. This role requires knowledge of the digital health, neuroimaging or AI diagnostics landscape, a sophisticated analytics background, and an understanding of drug development and regulatory engagement. This role will report to the Director of Neurodegeneration Digital Measures.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will join the Digital and AI Measures team, be a part of establishing the Digital Health strategy for clinical phase programs, define and communicate processes for evaluating and quantifying the impact of opportunities, and be responsible for ensuring implementation and execution within clinical trials remains on track with. This will be achieved by leading internal and external talent to champion data-driven approaches to quantifying mechanism, defining patient screening and patient selection strategies, and evaluating outcomes. You will contribute to broader initiatives integrating multi-model data through AI/ML to impact target identification and precision medicine across a range of Neurodegenerative and Neuropsychiatric diseases.

The candidate's work will be tightly coupled with our Neuroscience Biomarkers, Translational Medicine, and Clinical Development teams.

  • Create the strategy and process for measurement selection within clinical development programs drawing upon a combination of internal and external resources.
  • Collaborate with scientists and clinicians to create measurement development plans, and with data scientists to create analysis plans to support clinical development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners
  • Manage introduction of a measurement technology into a clinical trial ensuring alignment among teams from clinical, technical, operations, and data science leadership to enable smooth execution in trials, and crisp execution of analyses.
  • Contribute to J&J's drive towards the development of circuit driven precision medicines through advances in measurement.
  • Remain current on the constantly evolving landscape of digital and imaging measures in CNS disorders.


Qualifications

  • PhD with 6 years of progressive experience in a computational or physical science with prior applying data science to life sciences is required. (A degree in a biological science with extensive application of data science methodologies will also be considered.)
  • Extensive background working hands-on deriving insights from digital and/or neuroimaging data is required.
  • Deep understanding of modern AI methods is an advantage.
  • Track record of scientific contributions in this field evidenced by publications in reputable journals is required.
  • Experience translating data into strategies and executable action plans is required.
  • Experience driving towards novel solutions to problems is required.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical work to a diverse audience is required.
  • Background and experience working in Neuroscience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical development processes is preferred.
  • This position may be located in Titusville, NJ, Cambridge, MA or La Jolla, CA, and may require up to approximately 10% yearly travel (international and domestic).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
