The Associate Director, Data Strategy and Management will lead and coordinate activities related to the consumption and transformation of data to support data strategy, incentive compensation, field and home office reporting, market analysis, analytics, and forecasting for new launches in Immunology, such as Nipocalimab.

This individual governs all business process rules and provides regular communications regarding status of data quality and impact of market events to internal team members. They will collaborate with data vendors and agencies on data acquisition, onboarding and contracting and ensure value for data-related investments. Functioning as a subject matter authority, they will support ad hoc, data-centric business questions, and will partner with IT and business partners within the StAT (Strategy, Analytics and Transformation) team to proactively resolve data issues and support strategic data initiatives.

The successful candidate will collaborate within the Data Platforms team on data quality systems for automated data platform at data inception, data processing, and data outputs. This will improve trust and adoption and enhance confidence in the data ecosystem, improve data quality, and facilitate accurate and informed decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the ongoing quality and application of JJIM data pipeline supporting the sales and marketing organization, ensuring high-quality data and appropriate use.
  • Act as "go to" key contact within the StAT organization for data related needs, queries, and issues and advise business teams on the best data sources to leverage for a given business question or insight.
  • Lead the data governance program of the assigned product portfolio; actively supervise data quality and resolve data-related issues and disruptions.
  • Lead data on-boarding /change management/ issue resolution/ data integration projects - build project plans, perform validation and organizational change activities.
  • Lead data-centric projects to resolution, through resource management, execution, and communication (e.g. data onboarding, data events/disruptions).
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on data validation and data coordination activities for both field-based (incentive compensation) internal reports/systems (sales forecasting).
  • Engage business process owners to align on the action plan on the mitigation of data events/changes on various commercial operations processes (e.g., Incentive Compensation, Sales Forecasting etc.)
  • Responsible for leading annual data purchase budgets for assigned portfolio, build POs and collaborate with finance, procurement and business owners on supervising spend.
  • Maintain inventory of purchased data and promote organizational awareness of application of data in relevant use cases.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new data sources that may provide new insights, competitive advantage and help advise future data strategy.
  • Ensure that data vendors align with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by ensuring data quality, timely delivery, errors reported, time to resolution to data inquiries, account services etc.

Secondary Responsibilities include:

  • Pull through the implementation of a sophisticated Anomaly QC Detection System (New/improved capability)
  • Supervise overall quality of our data and assure that each of therapeutic teams are following established Data Quality SOP's.
  • Detect and address data quality issues at all data processing/transformational stages.
  • Establish KPIs for issue reporting and correction.
  • Apply AI-driven anomaly detection to identify granular data gaps.
  • Manage a centralized dashboard to monitor and evaluate data operations metrics ns


Qualifications

Education:

  • BA/BS undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Technology, Analytics or Health Sciences is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience is an asset.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Validated experience of 8+ years in roles related to data management, analytics, insights or other commercial excellence areas within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Proficient in data sources/products and expertise in using pharma industry syndicated/secondary data from leading vendors- IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, SPP, patient claims, RWE/HEOR, IDN/ACO Affiliations
  • Previous experience in establishing and leading data partnerships with external vendors.
  • Strong grasp of data analytics, AI, and machine learning concepts and their application to business operations.
  • Knowledge of data querying/business intelligence tools and systems that allow for effective management of large data sets is required.
  • Understanding of data governance standard methodologies, and strong understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata, and data management.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities based on meticulous data analysis and interpretation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and work well with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry-specific compliance considerations.
