Johnson & Johnson MedTech Digital (JJMT) is recruiting for an Applied Scientist - Computer Vision to join the applied sciences team to create new innovative solutions for improved surgical outcomes. JJMT Digital is passionate about crafting the future of digital surgery by developing software products and solutions for hospitals, clinicians, and patients. These products will deliver a comprehensive digital surgery experience for J&J MedTech customers and their patients from pre-operative care through post-operative support.

We are seeking an Applied Scientist to lead the development and deployment of computer vision and other models for multi-modal data such as images, videos and time-series. This is an early-career opportunity to join a cross-functional high-value team of applied scientists, data scientists and ML engineers, who will push the boundaries of AI to support surgical outcomes.

• Develop, deploy and manage state of the art ML Models in production (classic ML, DNNs, and Large Language Models/GenAI).
• Strong knowledge of developing and deploying vision-based models in production with both batch and real-time processing.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and data teams to build solutions on top of a common platform
• Strike a right balance between applied research and product-focused core features and deliver continuous value through ML to end customers.

• BS or M.S. in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, or another quantitative field.
• 2+ years of academic or industry experience developing machine learning models
• 1 - 2 years of experience applying deep learning, language or vision models
• Familiarity with Distributed Systems and Infrastructure (using a Cloud provider such as AWS/GCP or Azure) is a great advantage
• Up to 15% travel required, in the US and internationally.
