The R&D Co-op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. Each Co-op will be assigned to a single function with a specific project for the 6-month term.

The typical Co-op term is from January 2025 - June 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• This project will seek to develop process models and data visualization tools to enable downstream process scale up/down, efficient laboratory process execution and post-execution data wrangling.

• This project will leverage existing resources within API Proteins, Data Integration, and laboratory experience to support the development, improvement and deployment of digital tools that enable process digitization and optimization.

• Support laboratory-scale downstream process development as well as pilot-scale execution of chromatography and filtration unit operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.
    • Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and related engineering majors are preferred.
    • Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree.
    • Graduate students are preferred
    • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Students with prior (intern/co-op) experience in laboratory methods, and process development of biologicals in biotech/biopharma, are preferred.
    • Proficiency in (or strong interest in learning) coding languages - Python/ R and process modelling, is preferred
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while implementing results
    • Must be a self-starter works independently while supplying to the team goals
    • Shown leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
