What you will do

The Johnson Controls Accelerated Commercial Excellence (ACE) Development Program is an 18–24-month sales development program. For the first six months of the program, you will be located in Milwaukee, WI. (Northwest suburb of Glendale WI.)  During the second half of the program (6-12 months), you will be required to relocate to New England.  (Our office is in Westford MA approximately 34 miles northwest of the downtown Boston MA waterfront.)  Upon completion of the development program, your permanent role/assignment could be located in any major city across the US.  The program is designed to help top talent develop their sales skills, develop knowledge of the fire detection industry, and become a future leader within our company. Under general supervision, you will provide sales support for Area Sales Managers and Field Sales Engineers. You will also provide technical support, product selection assistance, and order processing assistance to a set of customers in an assigned region. This position will help you gain experience in a sales role while you provide value to our customers and field sales team.  #ACE

How you will do it

  • Provide technical, commercial, and pricing support to field sales personnel and customers.  
  • Develop relationships with managed and maintained customer accounts to generate new business opportunities and promote new product releases.  
  • Establish monthly cadence with Area Sales Mangers and Field Sales Engineers to attend and participate in customer facing meetings  
  • Attend weekly training sessions to build HVAC/R and fire systems knowledge, product knowledge, learn sales management tools, learn sales tactics and processes  
  • Perform high levels of customer service when issues arise with order management, quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, and product application support 
  • Develop working relationships with Price Administration, Customer Service, and Product Management teams 
  • Lead product presentations internal to your team a to prepare for customer facing presentations and webinar opportunities 
  • Responsible for recording sales activities and opportunities in Salesforce 
  • Learn how to review sales data and understand how to customize views that are relevant to customer type and region; at some level become familiar with how to create reports in PowerBI  
  • Assist in increasing customer usage of our online ordering portal which will consist of live demonstrations, reporting feedback, and collecting product data to be uploaded 

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum (Engineering Degree highly preferred) 
  • Undergraduate senior expecting to graduate between May 2023 – May 2025. Program starts in June 2025
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), internet software and e-mail 
  • Must have the ability to be in Milwaukee, WI (Glendale WI) for the first 6-months of the program, then relocate to the New England area (Westford MA office) for the second half.  Upon training program completion, you will relocate to another major city in the United States.  There are plenty of city options to choose from in all 50 states. 
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Technical internship experience is highly preferred 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Available to travel up to 20% – dependent upon your assignments
