Position Summary
J. J. Keller's Environmental Consulting practice is seeking a Contract Consultant with subject matter expertise in Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MSHA regulations, consulting experience, and a willingness to travel. As an Independent Contractor with J. J. Keller, candidates MUST have other clients, as J. J. Keller cannot make up 50% or more of your total annual revenue. *This position can be located anywhere in the U. S.

Education, Experience & Other Qualifications
- Advanced experience in the mine safety & health industry.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate health/safety aspects of mining industry operations and processes.
- Bachelors' Degree, preferably in Environmental Services, Health or Safety Sciences, Technology/Engineering, and 10+ years experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
- Strong verbal and written skills for effectively communicating within organizations and outside regulatory agencies.
- Ability to analyze technical and regulatory information, make sound judgments, and provide prudent recommendations to all J. J. Keller clients.
- Knowledge of applicable MSHA federal, state, and local rules and regulations with the ability to educate, train, and mentor J.J. Keller clients on the applications and impacts on operations
Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Periodic travel to customer sites and/or industry and training events may be required based on assignment.

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply): Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $100.00 to $150.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's overall experience and geographic location.
