Job Summary
The Configuration Engineer is responsible for implementing, supporting, training, and troubleshooting business applications (MES, Agile, SAP, etc.). They support users with typical and advanced questions, contribute to continuous improvement, and ensure corporate consistency. This role is typically assigned to the most experienced "power user" of the application.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Configure various software types (MES, AMW, Aegis, Cimbridge, Valor).
- Pull SQL queries and read system code to help resolve issues.
- Serve as the functional expert for manufacturing-related systems and tools.
- Support users with typical and advanced questions.
- Coordinate and facilitate training for new hires, new functionality, and upgrades.
- Track and communicate changes/enhancements to planning systems.
- Provide support to users and department SMEs.
- Serve as the first point-of-contact for application issues.
- Investigate incidents before escalating to Regional IT.
- Implement Jabil best practices at the site.
- Guide users in configuration.
- Work with site and regional IT on testing and implementing upgrades and new functionality.
- Maintain and develop documentation.
- Participate in departmental information exchange.
- Monitor departmental activities and provide technical/logistical support.
- Support corrective action efforts using SPC data and tracking packages.
- Serve as liaison between the department and GMS team.
- Develop and implement specialized training sessions.
- Provide support for all system tools and related issues.
- Detail requirements for enhancements and provide initial functional specifications.
- Assist in testing, validation, and rollout of new functionality, including plant-level training.
- Define and document business processes, policies, and work instructions.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and company security policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; five years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification by related professional organizations (APICS, NAPM, or ASQ) preferred.
