About This Role

The Senior Manager, Global Legal Operations will report to the Sr. Director, Legal - Corp & Legal Ops and will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing the non-legal operational aspects of the global Legal function, including the systems and processes used by the global Legal team to support the organization.  Responsibilities will include budget and planning, vendor management (including legal billing), the department’s technology and document management strategies, and leading the analytic and reporting process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement a legal operations strategy that aligns with the Legal Department’s strategic objectives and the Company’s priorities.
  • Partner with key leadership members across the Legal team to determine and define appropriate metrics that will be indicators of success.
  • Lead efforts to identify and implement new solutions and optimize existing solutions to streamline Legal Team operations, improve Legal intake process and workflows with a focus on efficiency and scale.
  • Oversee all Legal Department project management activities, including the implementation of technology enhancements.
  • Implement policies and practices to optimize efficiency of external legal spend and manage policies relating to billing guidelines.
  • Develop a technology roadmap and manage technology implementations and related enhancements, including the continued build out of a contract management system, and workflow service technologies for general legal service requests.
  • Create and maintain robust information management processes for the storage of critical legal documents, including contracts, corporate governance materials, policies, and project tracking information
  • Identify and implement process improvements, optimize applications and tools and solutions around department systems, automation capabilities, technologies and controls.
  • Expand the knowledge management function, including the provision of technology training sessions.
  • Manage and oversee the engagement, on-boarding and off-boarding of new Legal vendors, including outside counsel and temporary and contract staff for Legal (when applicable).
  • Oversee the Legal Department budget and forecasts and manage resource allocation and continuous improvement opportunities within budget guidelines.
  • Coordinate Legal team meetings.
  • Facilitate and organize continuing legal education programs, company-wide training on legal topics, train the Legal team and the broader organization on legal processes and procedures.
  • Manage the Legal Operations team, comprised of a legal contract analyst and legal operations analyst
  • Assist on legal and cross-functional projects as they arise.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal, legal management, or legal operational certificate from an accredited program a plus; graduate or Juris Doctorate degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant legal operations or functional equivalent that has direct applicability to legal operations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain productive work relationships and work collaboratively with others to resolve issues.
  • Must be capable of working independently with general direction, handling ambiguity, and managing up and across as needed to meet goals and deadlines in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to quickly learn new technology and software platforms.

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

 

Estimated Pay Range
$132,200$170,000 USD
