Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Technical Trainer will be responsible to conduct trainings across all technology platforms including the Digital Portfolio, support all training needs of stakeholders in the Services Business Unit, collaborate cross-functionally, and help to manage the product fleet in the Freiburg office. This individual will also be involved in training development and should have a basic understanding of training design with a curiosity to learn more.
The Technical Trainer will partner with an Instructional Design team to build effective learning programs for direct and in-direct markets to ensure customers have the necessary tools to launch, optimize and sustain successful robotic programs. This individual will be actively involved in team training, program support, continuous improvement initiatives, and process improvements
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate in all phases of learning projects, including, analysis, design, development, implementation, & evaluation
- Collaborate with internal partners within Global Commercial Enablement, Product Support, Global Business Systems, HR, Talent Development and other cross functional partners to standardize business processes
- Program manager and course facilitation for DaVinci and Ion training programs
- Conduct assessments and evaluations as defined by course protocol
- Master processes and make recommendations to improve training effectiveness
- Maintain critical documentation for standard operating procedures and key processes
- Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with Commercial Enablement Operations team for training certification and record keeping
- Participate in process improvement efforts
- Leverage various formats and venues for training programs, such as instructor-led, self-led, distance learning/remote, video and podcast, etc. to maximize the impact of the content while optimizing costs.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Clear and effective communication with strong facilitation skills
- A passion for technical training excellence
- Basic knowledge of training design and best practices
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Self-starter with ability to take ownership of responsibilities with minimal direction
- Ability to self-manage multiple development projects and deadlines
- 2+ years of experience in the medical device space, either conducting technical trainings or directly servicing Intuitive products
- Some experience or willingness to learn documentation processes in a controlled environment such as Agile
- Experience in working in SAP, SFDC and ERP systems
- A proven track record of problem solving, hands-on involvement to identify issues, and seeing solutions through to completion
- Experience with project management and working as a cross functional team member
- Proven ability to develop and implement new processes to support evolving business needs
- Strong work ethic
- Obsessed with the quality of service and training delivery provided to stakeholders
- Agility to adapt and navigate the grey
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects, but focus on the vital few
- Creativity to solve complex problems
- Associates degree or higher with coursework relevant to training, manufacturing, engineering, or educational development
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in any of the following: Training, Content Development, Customer Service, Field Service, Technical Support
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 5 years in med device industry
- DaVinci product knowledge
- Ion product knowledge
- OR protocol knowledge
- Software application knowledge
- Technical background
