Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Based in Amsterdam, this position will manage the distribution of spare parts for Intuitive's products throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. The role will manage service order fulfillment and oversee EMEA distribution activities to ensure the creative, efficient, and cost-effective flow of spare parts. The effective management of relationships with and performance of service logistics suppliers will be key to ensuring the on time availability of spare parts, that will enable Intuitive's field service organization to optimize system availability and ensure continuity of procedures for Intuitive's customers and their patients.
This key role will oversee a significant expansion of Intuitive's service logistics capabilities to enhance the support provided to Intuitive's customers. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of achieving results through a cross functional global environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage logistics provider performance and costs to enable the most cost-effective solutions while meeting field service engineer and customer delivery requirements
- Lead service logistics supplier selection and implementation projects for EMEA
- Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities to obtain verified savings
- Liaise with Service Planning team to maintain appropriate service part inventory levels to ensure proper usage of the network and appropriate shipping methods to support customer system availability at the optimal cost
- Create and foster a continuous improvement culture and discipline within the team
- Develop deep understanding of stakeholder (Field Service, Planning, Customer Service, Tade Compliance and Regulatory) requirements and translate these into the EMEA service logistics strategy, while ensuring ongoing alignment with the global service logistics strategy
- Responsible for leading change in systems, automation, and processes with IT and logistics providers
- Evaluate and incorporate new products, operational changes, and acquisitions seamlessly into the business
- Support the professional development of direct reports to ensure their skill levels are commensurate with future departmental and organizational needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with Field Service, Planning, Manufacturing, Trade Compliance and Tax to optimize reverse logistics supply chain
- Ensure inventory accuracy across an extensive network of field stocking locations
- Develop plans for business continuity to be implemented when required
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience at senior manager level or higher leading service logistics organizations through significant changes in network, organization, and system changes
- A track record of successfully migrating service logistics operations between logistics service providers on time, within budget
- Experience managing the setup and expansion of field stocking locations across EMEA to provide same day spare parts delivery
- Demonstrated experience in logistics provider management, service parts planning, same day and next flight out transportation, spare parts reverse logistics optimization, and 3PL management
- Proven ability to manage cross functional projects
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods storage and transportation regulations is desirable
- Fluent at least in English and another European language.
- Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP
- This role is office based in Amsterdam
- Travel: 10% of time
