Job Description
Primary Function of Position

We are seeking a communications expert to lead the development and execution of internal and external executive communications initiatives for key business priorities in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This includes acting as a strategist and trusted advisor to senior executives, developing executive narratives, presentations, and strategic communications plans that resonate across diverse internal and external audiences.
This role requires a unique blend of high-level strategy and hands-on execution, and the ability to work within a highly collaborative international communications team, reporting to a U.S.-based director. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, a strategic orientation, excellent organization and presentation skills, a bias toward action, and a desire to learn continuously.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic communications planning: Create, nurture, and execute a proactive, integrated internal and external executive communication support model, strategy, and roadmap that reflects the priorities for the region and builds effective connections with key audiences.
- Executive messaging and presentation development: Collaborate closely with senior executives to create executive narratives and presentations that reflect their voice and vision. Develop content for internal and external platforms such as all-hands meetings, email announcements, and customer events. Provide coaching to help executives deliver compelling presentations.
- Project management and tactical execution: Lead the execution of employee communication initiatives, overseeing end-to-end project management, from planning and content development to measurement. Ensure flawless execution across multiple platforms, managing timelines, resources, and cross-functional teams.
- Storytelling and content creation: Craft written, oral, and digital content that resonates with internal and external audiences. Own the content development process for presentations, event briefings, scripts, talking points, organizational announcements, intranet articles, employee stories, and customer testimonials.
- Event coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute internal meetings and events, including agenda creation, presentation management, and Q&A facilitation.
- Regional expertise and collaboration: Serve as the communications expert for the APAC region. Occasional partnership with global communications and people brand teams to leverage shared content, and adapt and amplify significant key messages in-region; light support with regional alignment to employee value proposition (EVP).
- Localization and translation: Localize corporate communications for APAC audiences, managing translations into Mandarin, Japanese, or other relevant languages to ensure cultural and linguistic accuracy.
- Measurement and impact analysis: Measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, using data-driven insights to optimize future initiatives and demonstrate their impact on business goals. Track and measure executive communication activities for the region.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Seasoned communications professional with a minimum of 8 years of experience in internal, executive, and/or corporate communication within highly matrixed multinational organizations.
- Previous experience working with clients in Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, India, and Singapore.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated ability to clearly, compellingly communicate complex ideas, working directly with senior executives.
- Experience in providing effective advice, counsel, and communication training/coaching to executives.
- Expertise in strategic communications planning, coupled with hands-on experience in executing initiatives across various channels.
- Superior project management and organization skills, especially the ability to monitor and manage multiple projects, events, and issues simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to tailor materials to effectively communicate with multiple audiences, including colleagues in different departments and countries, and diverse internal and external stakeholders and audiences.
- Self-starter, detail oriented, proactive, ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Healthcare experience, specifically medical device or pharma, or in another regulated industry is a plus.
- Experience working within a U.S.-based or international corporation, with comfort in managing relationships across time zones.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin and/or Japanese is highly desirable.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
