Overview

Position Summary:

Using procedures standard to the company, carries out assignments associated with research, design, or development, and manufactures specific parts, components, or minor phases of a project. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.  Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.  Under the general direction of senior Engineering personnel, with moderate latitude for self-direction, operate in one or more areas of responsibility within a specific section or department.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Performs varied engineering assignments under minimum of direct supervision and technical guidance.
  • Technical responsibilities directed to engineering assignments which substantially add to the program.
  • Designs and develops moderately complex parts, components, and/or circuits.
  • Provides technical direction to support personnel as directed by engineering supervisor.
  • Accomplishes independent designs, analyses, and interpretations of engineering data.
  • May test materials for adherence to technical specifications.
  • Prepares specifications for developed parts, components, and/or circuits.
  • Maintains a good engineering notebook.
  • Provides limited technical guidance to other engineers and supervision to technicians assigned to projects.
  • Performs other duties as requested

Internal Networking/Key relationships.

  • Assists senior engineering personnel in solution of complex problems.
  • Works closely with other engineers and support departments.
  • TBD based on departmental needs

Qualifications

Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • B.S. in Engineering and a minimum of 2 years experience related to the areas given above or suitable equivalent combination of education and experience.
