We are looking for a passionate Senior Android Engineer to have a transformative impact building products enjoyed by millions of people everyday. Within the Ads Solutions team, you will spearhead the development of innovative ad experiences on the Instacart app. You will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and launching new ad formats that not only captivate our customers but also amplify the growth of our advertisers. The Ads Solutions Team is a vibrant collective of engineers pioneering new advertising formats at Instacart. Tasked with incubating and scaling cutting-edge ad solutions, our team fuels revenue growth and sustains vital partnerships within the Instacart Retail Media Network. As a beacon of innovation, our suite of display advertising and promotion offerings empowers brands to engage, educate, and bring savings to consumers.
About the Job
As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll be integral to a full-stack team driving end-to-end development from client to backend. Known for agility, our team values rapid iteration alongside quality and craft:
- Lead the design and implementation of Android client applications.
- Collaborate across teams and across functions to set product requirements and long-term strategies.
- Uphold and elevate technical standards, ensuring superior code quality, test coverage, and system performance.
- Embrace cross-functional roles and tackle challenges beyond Android to amplify product outcomes.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of Android development experience.
- Expertise in Android technologies, especially Dagger, RxJava, and Compose.
- Expertise in Kotlin.
- Proven track record in debugging and analytical skills.
- Proven ability in rigorous unit testing and practical problem-solving.
- Strong ownership attributes and experience working in large codebases.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital advertising technologies.
- Proficient with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.
