Virtualization Engineer

Infosys is seeking a Virtualization Engineer specializing in Hypervisor. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Infrastructure Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Required Qualifications:
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Houston, TX, or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
• At least 4 years of Information Technology and Operational Technology Infrastructure support experience
• Conduct: Planning and migration of data center to off-site colocation and converted physical servers to virtual servers using VMware, Hyper-V and HP blade servers.

• Complete: Planning and implementation of Cloud Services: ProofPoint Essentials, Mcafee Security as a Service, Virtual Machines, VPN.
• Perform: Audit Information Systems backups, security policies, logs, procedures, and hardware/software inventory.
• Drive the Cybersecurity hygiene management initiative in the Operations and Engineering team to address critical vulnerabilities identified in IT and Operational Technology systems.
• Manage new deployments and transitions of critical management systems from on premises to cloud: Active Directory, Single Sign On with cloud solutions and CyberArk for Petroleum OT sites.
• Design & Implement: Disaster Recovery Solution with VMware SRM.
• Open Availability to work in a 24/7 Operations environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Troubleshooting skills on ESXi servers using Command Line is a plus
• Experience on Server platforms: Cisco Unified Computing Systems, HP, Dell, IBM server infrastructure is an added advantage.
• Solving Performance issues and worked in resolving Major outages is an extra benefit.
• Performance analysis and tuning experience is a perk.
• Demonstrated Root Cause Correct Action analysis, report generation, and presentation to customers is preferred.
• Ability to correlate incident trends into problem management and execute permanent fixes.
• Working knowledge of: providing capacity planning & sizing.
• Excellent Communications and client interaction skills along with exceptional written and verbal skills as well as technical documentation
• Extraordinary Planning, Project Management, Coordination, and Analytical skills
• Hands-on experience in working in Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources
• Exceptional Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Readiness to demonstrate a proactive attitude
• Solid attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
