We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with a strong background in Azure cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing large-scale data platforms, including Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Power BI. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, as well as the ability to create technical Points of View (POV) and Proofs of Concept (POCs) to be presented to leadership and stakeholders. The Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data platform to support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

  • Lead the design and architecture of large-scale data platforms on Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Define data architecture strategies, frameworks, and best practices for data management and analytics.
  • Architect solutions leveraging Azure Databricks, Synapse, ADF, ADLS, and Power BI to meet complex data requirements.
  • Data Platform Management:
    • Oversee the implementation and management of Azure-based data platforms, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
    • Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval strategies to ensure high performance and cost efficiency.
    • Manage data integration, ETL processes, and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and other relevant tools.
  • Technical POV and POC Development:
    • Develop technical Points of View (POVs) on emerging data technologies and trends, and present them to leadership and stakeholders.
    • Create Proofs of Concept (POCs) to demonstrate the feasibility and value of new data solutions and approaches.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with business leaders, data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to align data architecture with business goals.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure that data platforms are designed and implemented with security best practices in mind, adhering to organizational and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement data governance and compliance frameworks to protect sensitive data and ensure data integrity.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Experience:
      • 10+ years of experience in data architecture and data platform management.
      • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Power BI.
      • Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale data platforms in a cloud environment.
      • Strong experience in creating technical POVs and POCs, with a track record of successfully presenting to leadership.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL design, and data pipeline orchestration.
      • Strong understanding of big data technologies and distributed computing.
      • Experience with data security, data governance, and compliance best practices.
      • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Scala, SQL, and relevant data processing frameworks.
    • Soft Skills:
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
      • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certifications:
      • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
      • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
    • Experience:
      • Experience in managing data platforms in a multi-cloud environment.
      • Experience with machine learning platforms and advanced analytics.
