Your Role:
As a Technology Lead you will work on maintenance and support of critical applications for leading Global Financial Services.

Required:
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Applications Support in Unix, SQL & Unix Scripting.
  • Knowledge with Java/Python.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Handson exp in SQL:
    • Know how to write PL/SQL statement
    • Good understanding of joins
    • Good understanding of performance tuning of queries
    • Knowledge of commands to check DB health and query debugging
  • Experience in Unix:
    • know advanced shell commands like - substitution, disk space check and cleaning, awk/sed, no-hup, script execution
    • be able to tail logs and search for specific patterns, errors, stack trace
    • know basic shell scripting to automate repeated manual tasks like running SQL for report generation, repeated user queries that can be automated, etc.
    • Know FTP, archiving and other commands needed for day-to-day batch support
  • Java knowledge:
    • Should know basics of OOPs.
    • Should be able to read through and understand the java code.
    • Basic debugging, exception handling memory management and garbage collection
Preferred (Any):
  • Experience in Sybase/DB2/RDBMS.
  • Experience with Java/Python.
  • Experience with job scheduler (Ex. Autosys), Ticketing tool/Jira.
  • Experience with IDE is a plus.
Role Description:
  • Work actively with team members to analyze and resolve applications issues.
  • Incident Management (Incident resolution, stakeholder communication, bridge management, postmortem analysis, and actions items).
  • User Ticket management (Backlog review, User interface and manual prioritization).
  • Planned/unplanned events - support BCP (Business Continuity Planning), Migration, Holiday activities.
  • Identify defects/discrepancies to identify the root cause by debugging or analyzing logs.
  • Improve application stability by observing patterns, recurring alerts or issues for permanent fix or automation.
