Position Description:

Compliance Specialist - In this position, across the North Americas Region for Infosys Public Services, the Lead/Senior Lead - Compliance Specialist will keep current HR policies as per local employment and immigration regulations for the company. Ensure HR for processes/policies/practices are established per local regulations. Assess adherence of HR processes/policies/practice and advice on status of corrective actions. Creates the framework to obtain and maintain the latest data on compliance requirements. The HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring our company adheres to legal standards and internal policies. They are tasked with enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters.

Employee Relation Specialist - In this position, across the North Americas Region for Infosys Public Services, the Lead/Senior Lead - Employee Relations will ensure harmonious employee relations and positive work environment. Provide Employee Relations solutions to all levels of employees, BPHRs and managers, with an emphasis on analysis and resolution of Employee Relations (ER) issues, investigations, and other related matters. Role holder will be responsible for proactively bringing escalated matters to resolution, ensuring proper process and documentation steps are followed, problem solving in areas with ambiguity and process improvements.

Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:

At least 6 years of work experience, including HR domain, of which at least 5 years should be in the USA.
This position is located in Rockville, MD. Candidates must be within commuting distance or willing to relocate to this area.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement company policies and regulations.
  • Oversee all business operations relating to compliance including policies and procedures.
  • Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies.
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements.
  • Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues.
  • Coordinate with different department managers to review all departmental compliance policies.
  • Lead function specific internal and external audits turn-key -including but not limited to scheduling, providing inputs and remediating gaps , participating, in non-compliance periodic audits on company procedures and processes.
  • Lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues.
  • Ensure that all employee matters are handled with a consistent and focused approach that is aligned with Infosys' vision and values.
  • Ensure investigations are appropriately resolved and that HR policies are applied consistently and in compliance with internal procedures.
  • Conduct timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations involving coordination and collaboration with other internal partners and prepare all required documentation.
  • Investigate complaints, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, employee grievances, security violations, background investigations matter, immigration compliance and other complaints.
  • Update central trackers with the required details for ER dashboards and data analysis.
  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain positive employee relations/practices, to include coaching of employees, HR personnel and business leaders.
  • Act as point of contact for employees with concerns about employee relations matters.
  • Provide advice and guidance to HR colleagues and managers for the timely resolution of any internal complaints and difficult corrective action situations.
  • Facilitate trainings and mentoring activities as needed.
  • Review and manage ADA requests in accordance with applicable Company policies and applicable state and federal laws
  • Record and track ER data in a thorough and timely manner. Maintain a record of all cases using proper documentation standards. Develop and complete required reports.
  • Craft strategies for resolving employee issues and minimizing adverse impact
  • Experience investigating, resolving and documenting complaints, with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of US local, state and Federal employment laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws
  • Knowledge of Canada employment laws and regulations beneficial
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer/Manager and Employee Relations Specialist/Manager.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML).
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a master's degree program are strongly preferred.

The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
