Short Description: We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot and microservices to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our business needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend applications and third-party services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and refine requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to best practices .
Skills /Competencies:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Proficiency in Java programming, including Java 8+ features and libraries.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related frameworks (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and patterns, including API gateway, service discovery, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with AKKA Serverless architecture
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline.
- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger
- Knowledge of message brokers and event streaming platforms like Kafka
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent customer interfacing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills
