Short Description - Job Title: L2 Production Support/User Support Specialist

Job Summary: The L2 Production User Support Specialist will be responsible for providing second-level support for IT applications involving Java, SQL, and Unix technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach. The candidate will have to work from client location and provide technical L2 support to traders in Goldman Sachs, do enhancements and problem fixes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 support for production issues related to Java, SQL, and Unix-based applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with L1 support teams to escalate and resolve issues that require deeper technical expertise.
- Monitor application performance and system health, and proactively address potential issues.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of application updates and patches.
- Document support activities, issue resolutions, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with end-users, providing clear and concise updates on issue status and resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a production support role, preferably in financial industry - banks, investment firms.
- Strong knowledge of Java, SQL, and Unix technologies.
- Experience with application monitoring tools and techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
- Experience with Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
