Job Summary: The SAP Project Systems Lead will be responsible for leading the on-the-ground implementation of SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) module at client locations. The role involves working closely with project stakeholders, leading project teams, and managing the day-to-day activities related to the SAP PS implementation. The Onsite Lead will ensure the successful delivery of the SAP S/4HANA solution within the specified timeline, budget, and scope, while also overseeing the configuration, integration, and adoption of SAP PS across business units.

Salary: AUD 129,311 - 142,018 Annual Gross

Key Responsibilities:
  • Onsite Leadership and Coordination:
    • Lead the onsite implementation of the SAP Project Systems (PS) module as part of the larger SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all onsite implementation activities, providing leadership and guidance to both the client and internal project teams.
    • Coordinate and manage daily activities, ensuring alignment with the overall project plan, timelines, and milestones.
    • Ensure seamless communication between the onsite team, project managers, business stakeholders, and offshore support teams.
  • Solution Design and Configuration:
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into SAP PS solutions that meet business needs.
    • Lead the configuration of the SAP PS module, ensuring that it is optimized for project tracking, budgeting, costing, and reporting in the SAP S/4HANA environment.
    • Ensure that SAP PS integrates seamlessly with other SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD) and third-party systems.
  • Project Lifecycle Support:
    • Oversee the configuration of the SAP PS module across the entire project lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
    • Ensure that the solution supports the effective management of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), networks, milestones, resource management, and project financials.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in SAP PS best practices and methodologies, assisting with process design, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business users, project managers, and IT teams, ensuring alignment of project objectives and expectations.
    • Regularly communicate with project sponsors and senior leadership, providing updates on project status, risks, and key milestones.
    • Ensure that all stakeholders are engaged throughout the project, facilitating discussions and decision-making to keep the project on track.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Ensure that all SAP PS configurations are thoroughly tested and validated to meet the business requirements and are fully integrated with the overall SAP S/4HANA solution.
    • Lead the user acceptance testing (UAT) process, guiding business users through testing scenarios and resolving any issues that arise.
    • Oversee the resolution of defects and ensure proper testing sign-off before the solution is deployed.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer:
    • Lead and support training sessions for business users, ensuring they are proficient in using the SAP PS module and understand the project management processes.
    • Ensure smooth knowledge transfer to internal teams for post-implementation support and ensure sustainability of the solution.
    • Develop and maintain user manuals and documentation for the SAP PS module, ensuring clarity and ease of use.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Identify and proactively manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or disruptions.
    • Document risks and issues, escalating them to senior leadership when necessary and ensuring timely resolution.
    • Monitor and manage scope creep, ensuring that changes are documented and aligned with the project's objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Gather feedback from business users and stakeholders throughout the implementation process and make recommendations for improvements.
    • Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to optimize the SAP PS solution and related business processes post-implementation.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key achievements, risks, and issues.
    • Maintain accurate documentation related to the implementation, including configuration guides, process flows, and change management materials.
    • Ensure proper project documentation is maintained for auditing purposes and future enhancements.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
    • Experience:
      • At least 10-15 years of experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) implementation and support, with a strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA capabilities.
      • Proven experience in leading SAP PS implementations, specifically in onsite roles, and managing cross-functional teams.
      • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and practices, including project financials, reporting, and controls.
      • Experience with the integration of SAP PS with other SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD) and third-party systems.
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
      • SAP certifications in Project Systems (PS) or S/4HANA are highly desirable.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Strong expertise in the SAP PS module, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), networks, project planning, budgeting, and costing.
      • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and integration capabilities, including the integration of SAP PS with other modules.
      • Familiarity with SAP Fiori and the user experience (UX) design for SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
      • Understanding of data migration strategies and tools for SAP PS, ensuring smooth transition from legacy systems.
    • Leadership and Soft Skills:
      • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
      • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
      • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Certifications:
      • SAP S/4HANA or SAP Project Systems (PS) certification is highly beneficial.
      • PMP or similar project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) are a plus.
    Working Conditions:
    • This role requires frequent onsite presence at the client's location, depending on the project phase and requirements.
    • Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, project reviews, or other engagements.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with a focus on meeting deadlines and managing project risks.
