Job Summary: The SAP Project Manager for S/4HANA Implementation is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the SAP S/4HANA implementation project, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives. This role involves coordinating project resources, defining project scope, tracking progress, managing risks, and working closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the successful deployment of SAP S/4HANA solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Lead the planning and execution of SAP S/4HANA implementation projects from initiation to completion.
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and business leaders.
    • Coordinate project activities, tasks, and resources to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all project-related communications, ensuring smooth and clear communication with stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, external vendors, and senior leadership.
    • Manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and facilitate decision-making at all levels.
    • Regularly report project progress to stakeholders, addressing risks, challenges, and changes to the project scope.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination:
    • Lead and manage the project team, which may include internal resources, external vendors, and consultants.
    • Allocate resources appropriately based on project needs, skills, and availability.
    • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that team members are aligned and working towards common project goals.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to promote professional development.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and proactively resolve any project issues that may arise.
    • Document and communicate project risks and issues to relevant stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution.
    Budget and Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints.
    • Monitor project expenses and track the financial health of the project, reporting any variances to senior management.
    • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards while adhering to budget limitations.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all aspects of the SAP S/4HANA implementation meet the defined quality standards and business requirements.
    • Oversee testing and validation processes to ensure that the solution works as expected before deployment.
    • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure proper documentation of issues and resolutions.
  • Change Management:
    • Lead the change management process to ensure smooth adoption of SAP S/4HANA by end-users.
    • Work with stakeholders to manage resistance and ensure that users are adequately trained and supported throughout the implementation.
    • Provide assistance with user training, ensuring that knowledge transfer is effectively carried out.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and issue logs.
    • Provide regular project status updates to senior management, highlighting key accomplishments, risks, and upcoming milestones.
    • Ensure that the project is closed out effectively with all documentation finalized, lessons learned recorded, and post-implementation support in place.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization within the S/4HANA environment.
    • Leverage lessons learned from previous projects to improve future implementations and operational efficiencies.
    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in project management, with at least 3-5 years of experience in managing SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
      • Proven track record of successful project delivery, including managing complex, enterprise-wide systems implementations.
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field (a Master's degree or relevant certifications is a plus).
      • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile) is highly desirable.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and functionality, as well as integration with other business systems.
      • Experience with SAP modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing is a plus.
      • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar).
      • Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
    • Leadership & Soft Skills:
      • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
      • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
      • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Certifications:
      • SAP S/4HANA certification or other relevant SAP certifications are a plus.
      • PMP or equivalent project management certification is desirable.
