Lead Big Data Engineer

Infosys is seeking a Lead Big Data Engineer. In this role, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition, and warranty. Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be located within the commuting distance of Austin, TX or must be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel within the US.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • All applicants authorized to work in the United States are encouraged to apply
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience
  • 3 years of experience in BI and Data Warehousing.
  • Proficient in writing complex SQLs, expertise in performance tuning of SQLs.
  • Proven experience in designing end-to-end reporting and dashboarding applications.
  • Experience in designing and developing ETL data pipelines.
  • Basic working knowledge of Python scripting and programming.
  • Minimum of 1 year hands on experience in Snowflake database and table design
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Working experience with huge volumes of data would be an advantage.
  • Expected to lead offshore database engineers.
  • Experience is working with client business users and other stakeholders to understand reporting / dashboarding requirements and then translating them to technical design and implement entire technical solution
  • Ability to play a Techno Functional role.
The job entails extensive amount of travel. The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
