Technology - Java Backend Engineer
Location - Costa Rica
Infosys is seeking a motivated and skilled Java Backend Engineer with 3-7 years of experience in Java application development. The position will primarily be responsible for application maintenance and providing support for the In-House product from customer's requirements. The candidate should be a highly skilled Java Programmer with familiarity on Microservices Architecture and Container Orchestration and need to be proficient in Java Debugging Skills. The selected candidate should be able to provide user support, maintain and upgrade the applications. Develop new features and write test scripts. Troubleshoot the issues on the systems. Interact with customer process consultants and business SME to understand and analyze various processes. Derive automation opportunities and make recommendations from the discussions. - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. We will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
- At least 5 years of related experience
- Turn design concepts into fully working Web applications.
- Rapid prototyping of design concepts.
- Quickly identify and fix JavaScript and CSS defects.
- Collaborate on optimal user experience choices based on business requirements.
- Develop high performance, scalable java code.
- Integrate front end code with backend Web services.
- Optimize existing Java code.
- Create re-usable code snippets and standards for use by other developers The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
- Experience working on one of DB technologies, writing queries etc. - Oracle, MySQL, PL/SQL or Postgres.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of Observability and Monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana ,Prometheus)
- Passionate about learning new technologies and enjoy a collaborative team environment
- Experience with translating business use cases to technical solutions, user interface design and database structures.
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English langauge.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies
- Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
