Infosys Public Services is seeking a Java Developer, to join our Team.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer/Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and delivery of complex, enterprise-level Java applications within a large, established organization. You will leverage your expertise in Agile methodologies and modern development practices to contribute to critical projects and initiatives.

Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:

  • Design, architect, develop, and deliver robust Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications.
  • Develop and maintain 3 and 4-tier web applications using a wide range of web technologies, including HTML, XML/XSL, JDBC, JNDI, LDAP, JavaScript, Java EJBs/applets/servlets, and CSS.
  • Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct user story writing workshops and effectively utilize Agile support tools.
  • Implement and maintain automated unit and functional testing, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
  • Ensure web application compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Contribute to the definition of enterprise architecture and solution architecture for new and existing applications.
  • Provide technical advisory and functional industry advisory services.
  • Analyze data, generate reports, and provide descriptive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Manage project schedules, quality, and risk, and provide regular status updates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system and technical documentation.
  • Work within a DevSecOps environment, utilizing tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, JUnit, Selenium, and AppScan.
  • Support and improve enterprise IT governance, including cloud, machine learning, and networking.
  • Proven experience developing software systems utilizing Agile methodologies.
  • Extensive experience in designing, architecting, developing, and delivering Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications.
  • Strong understanding of 3 and 4-tier web application architecture.
  • Proficiency in web technologies, including HTML, XML/XSL, JDBC, JNDI, LDAP, JavaScript, Java EJBs/applets/servlets, and CSS.
  • Demonstrated experience in user story writing, Agile ceremonies, and Agile support tools.
  • Experience with automated unit and functional testing.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance.
  • Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Experience providing technical and functional advisory services.

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education.

The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
