Role Designation: Senior Consultant

Salary Range: AUD $109,060-$120,433(Annual Gross). Salary offered is commensurate with experience

Role Description:
The primary purpose of this role is to work closely with project teams and business users to support the implementation of automated processes, application development and deployment in a continuous improvement and integration environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and management of application build, deployment and test automation, CI/CD pipeline line with documented requirements to optimise development efficiency (primarily Jenkins/Ansible/GitHub for java and COTS applications).
  • Develop automation scripts for the management of java applications (restarts, configuration updates etc).
  • Manage build and configuration of virtual Linux and windows environments using Ansible.
  • Assist with the management of Quality Engineering practice tooling and integration into application CI/CD.
  • Diagnose and solve production issues, including advanced troubleshooting of Windows and Linux-based systems.
  • Implement and manage software development tools, such as AWS DevOps, GIT, Jenkins, SVN and Ansible.
  • Familiar with principals of source code management, config as code, infrastructure as code.
  • Participate and contribute to the design and implementation of DevOps tools and processes to support the current and future automation strategy.
  • Collect, document, analyse and communicate DevOps solutions and processes to ensure other development and operations team members are upskilled in this functional area.
  • Support production releases and systems operationally scheduling deployments and restarts etc.
  • Migrate build jobs from on premise platforms onto modern cloud-based pipelines (primarily AWS).
  • Work closely with the teams to deliver CI/CD pipelines for assets produced.
  • Work closely with the infra teams to ensure the automation integrates with the platform automation technologies and processes.
  • Work with project managers providing estimates and adhering to project requirements.
  • Work with architects to refine technology stacks, approaches, and templates.
  • Engage with external consultants to deliver projects as required.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in managing technology infrastructure operations including builds and deployments across environments.
  • Experience in having used automation tools for improving infrastructure, application development and deployment.
  • Expert understanding in CI/CD concepts and tools.
  • Expert understanding of build and deploy toolchain including GIT, Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible and Linux.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS/Azure), containers, spring boot, and container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Understanding of Java compilation and snapshotting, certificate management and runtime environments.
  • Understanding of managing cloud development environments in Linux (Disk space management, CPU, VMs creation, backups etc).
  • Familiarity with database platforms such as DB2, PostgreSQL MySQL.
  • Experience with agile processes and scrum.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Ability to focus on end-outcomes and work accordingly to achieve the desired results
