Job Description

  • The role is a key leadership, development and delivery position responsible for the OTT User Interface & Applications development, build and releases of Entertainment Products & Services across InfoSys 7+ EU countries in order to enable the delivery of revenue growth primarily across our B2C unit at >4% CAGR annual revenue growth.
  • This individual will be the Go To Entertainment OTT UI & Apps software development contact for our Products organization for both in flight product developments and our overall technology strategy to support growth and customer proposition plans around the Entertainment portfolio.
  • This role is a key leadership position in the Technology group that is responsible for the OTT UI & Apps software development technology for unmanaged devices and service implementation of Products & Services across all Go To Market teams and therefore should ensure synergies in our overall delivery and operating model by working closely with peers within Technology and across the wider Technology & Innovation group.
  • This role will lead a diverse team of 5+ individuals (direct reports) and a 65+ offshore development team, through technology and OTT UI & Apps software development, build, and release activities across Europe and must inspire and motivate in a way that leverages the collective talent across all markets and align individuals around the Customer Value Proposition.
  • This role must also focus on achieving wider Technology objectives around scale, cost efficiency, speed to market and quality, and develop an ecosystem of 3rd party Application providers.
The role is accountable for implementing entertainment OTT UI & Apps components through their technology delivery and operations lifecycle ensuring timely delivery of technically ready products and services that can be taken to market in countries across Infosys' service footprint.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manages Software development team (Developers, Tester and Technical Project Managers - directly or indirectly)
  • Technical Software development lead
  • UI & Apps SW development & integration
  • Manage SW dev team releases scope and schedules in co-ordination with E2E TPM
  • Co-ordinate SW deliveries
  • Provide E2E lifecycle team documentation to support handover to operational teams
  • Performs vendors technical coordination
  • Manages development environments
Knowledge & Experience
  • Preferred education/ qualifications
  • MSc degree level in computer science / software development
  • Fluent spoken and written English - ideally other European languages
  • Fast experience in applying both Waterfall and Agile development approach
Knowledge & Experience:
  • At least 10+ years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry + managing software teams
  • At least 10+ years of experience and knowledge of CATV / OTT technologies, DTV and VOD/ReplayTV, Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies
  • At least 8+ years of experience in product and services related software development
  • At least 5+ years line management experience with budget responsibility and senior management reporting
  • Experience with working in an international and distributed team environment
  • Strong experience with vendor management
  • Experience in technical delivery management of large Pan-European B2C implementation platforms.
  • An understanding of Entertainment B2C services from:
  • commercial & content side
  • product development process
  • deep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem from back-office & service platforms, and Apps (IOS, Android, HTML5, Windows, AndroidTV, TVOS,SmartTV's, and/or additional middlewares and devices)
  • Wide understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure.
  • An understanding of Entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis.
  • A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
  • Technical understanding around Video CAS, DRM, Streaming Protocols, Video back-ends, workflows, CMS, security services, Search & Recommendations, Application Services, CDN, Ad Insertion, broadband data, home networking, TV, VoD, cDVR.
  • Good overall knowledge/familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including: Ethernet, broadcast, as well as most current IP communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with Audio and Video coding/decoding and video playback technologies
  • Familiarity with related IT systems (OSS & BSS)
