Currently, we are looking for a Business Consultant (Railroad) to join IPS.

Position Description:
Passenger railroad expert SME with hands-on experience in working for railroad clients on large-scale project implementation and delivering winning proposals to fuel business growth for the organization.

Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
  • 11+ years of experience in business consulting with an emphasis on large-scale project implementation in the passenger railroad field or railroad experience in an advisory role.
  • Interact with director-level sales partners, senior business development executives, and corporate leaders to identify critical requirements of business clients.
  • Participate and lead meetings and workshops focused on the railroad domain with clients
  • Accountable for the initial outline and strategy of all functionally aligned proposal sections, incorporating strategy, and win themes throughout the proposal.
  • Knowledge of Theories, principles, and practices of passenger railroad systems design, construction, operations, maintenance, safety, accident prevention, and emergency response.
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the design, engineering, and construction of passenger railroad capital improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Project delivery, engineering, and maintenance roles, responsibilities, and requirements.
  • Railroad systems include track, structures, communications, signals, electric traction, and track usage procedures.
  • Serves as the railroad's SME for proposal preparation and is responsible for ensuring the quality of the drafts.
  • Maintains, updates, and is responsible for the proposal library of responses within the railroad functional area to deliver a comprehensive and compelling proposal.
  • In-depth knowledge of government-solicited RFPs and expert-level experience in managing large-scale railroad client proposals including writing and reviewing bids for railroad customers in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Supports all phases of more complex proposal creation including content management (content review and new content creation), process improvement, response design/development, response quality assurance, and proposal delivery.
  • Conduct workshops to train individuals on railroad domain expertise.
  • Experience in all phases of Project Management including planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and closeout.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or foreign equivalent, required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates that have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
