Infosys is seeking a AS400 Lead Developer with RPG, CLI and DB2 experience. The position will primarily be responsible for providing solutions on the Builder Parts - Service systems / processes as per customer's requirements. The selected candidate be able to Lead requirements elicitation, Create of Application Architecture Document (AAD), Create of Design Artifacts, Review team deliverables, Deliver High quality codes, Support Deployment and Post deployment related activities, Support Transition activities, Interface with internal team and key stakeholders and Analyze and resolve issues to ensure high quality deliverables at each stage of SDLC within the defined guidelines, policies and Norms.

  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Plano, TX or be willing to relocate to the area prior to onboarding.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience leading application development team (minimum 8 - 10 members) for IBM iSeries and AS400 environment (Web/Mobile/Desktop applications)
  • Excellent in designing and writing code supporting serverless framework using AS/400 Programming languages, including RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and DDS.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with AS/400 development tools, such as SEU, PDM, Database Utility-DBU, ODBC-FTP, JSON, ALDON, HAWKEYE, JIRA, Query Manager, Systems I Navigator, Zebra bar code generation, RJE, SNUF, SQLRPGLE and RDi.
  • Strong understanding of AS/400 programming concepts, including file handling, program flow control, and data manipulation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of AS/400 Developers in the design, development, and maintenance of AS/400 applications.
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting AS/400 applications to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, particularly DB2400 on the AS/400 platform.
  • Knowledge of AS/400 performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements for AS/400 applications.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software solutions using AS/400 programming languages, including RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and DDS.
  • Write efficient and well-structured code to implement business logic and functionality on the AS/400 platform.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of developed applications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing AS/400 applications by troubleshooting issues, implementing bug fixes, and optimizing performance.
  • Collaborate with other developers, database administrators, and system administrators to integrate AS/400 applications with other systems and databases.
  • Stay updated with the latest AS/400 technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements or alternative solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, data migration, and software deployment activities.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks or issues related to AS/400 applications and propose appropriate solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with modernizing AS/400 applications, such as refactoring legacy code, implementing web services, or integrating with other platforms.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries operating system and administration tasks.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Understanding of software version control systems, such as ALDON, Git or Subversion.
  • Certification in AS/400 or related technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
  • Capable of adapting to modern technologies and learning new tools and applications and Flexible as per the project need.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system design, coding standards, and user manuals.
  • Good working experience of the tools responsible for automation processes.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
  • Knowledge and experience in warehouse management domain.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
