Job Description/Requirements
Salary: Expected base pay rate for this role will be between $130,000 and $140,000 USD per year at the commencement of employment.
However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.
About the Role
The Technical Cloud Architect will join an expert team of energetic and knowledgeable staff building the next generation of advanced, top-tier consumer electronics components and technology stacks. The normal day-to-day function of this role will be to work with their peers in the Technical Operations group as well as Engineering groups to design, implement, roll-out, secure and maintain the infrastructure for several internet facing and private environments. The target for the Technical Cloud Architect will be to bring stability and elasticity to our infrastructure as we transition to the Cloud.
What You'll Do:
- Planning, design, creation and maintenance of cloud environments
- Monitor, tune and maintain our Linux systems
- Work extensively and closely with our DevOps team to ensure the maximum efficiency of our build and deploy environment
- Collaborate with both software and hardware engineering teams to improve, expand in some cases, or define builds, deployments, infrastructure, architecture, and tools
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support our systems
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Software Development, Information Technology and/or Software Engineer
- Over 7 years of related experience in a high-capacity, high-impact, high availability online environment
- Expert level Linux Administration with hands-on experience
- At least 5+ years' experience working with AWS cloud technologies like IAM, KMS, S3, EC2, Autoscale, ELB/ALB, Route53, RDS and DynamoDB
- Ability to understand and write configuration management with Ansible or Puppet
- Experience configuring Apache or Nginx
- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or MongoDB
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, ability to influence and drive consensus
