Job Description/Requirements
About the Role
IMAX is looking for an impactful Sourcing Specialist to join our growing team. If you thrive in a production environment, are adept at interfacing cross-functionally, and want to take part in manufacturing the most advanced projection systems in the world, this would be an excellent opportunity for you!
You'll be joining a group that works with sophisticated, aerospace-class systems with electromechanical products that utilize lasers and advanced optics. We provide and service 1700+ theatres in over 80 countries and counting.
You'll develop and implement detailed commodity strategies to support IMAX product cost and manufacturing objectives, sourcing all required technologies and supplier partners while negotiating business agreements to provide IMAX with long term cost stability, supply continuity and best overall supplier value.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain commodity supply chain strategies to achieve IMAX cost and business objectives
- Source, evaluate and qualify world class suppliers to fulfill IMAX's material requirements
- Develop and negotiate supplier agreements including, but not limited to, letter agreements, development agreements and master supply agreements
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all supplier partners
- Work closely with engineering and R&D to identify potential new technology requirements
- Support all new product development activities
- Provide leadership and support internally to Procurement Specialists
- Develop a deep understanding of the supply base and its technologies
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to achieve IMAX cost of good targets
- Work closely with the supplier quality team to ensure all supplier meet IMAX quality expectations
- Create Purchase Orders to support manufacturing schedules, MRP demand and manual Purchase Requisitions
- Create and monitor supplier KPI's to ensure Supplier Performance (Cost, Delivery, Quality)
- Ensure ERP system information is accurate (e.g., lead-times & delivery)
- Post-secondary degree in a related discipline (materials management, supply chain management or business) or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of progressive supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Industry certifications considered an asset (CSCMP, CPIM, CSCP, CCLP, etc.)
- Experience developing supply chain strategies (including supplier sourcing) and negotiating supplier agreements
- MRP/ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Up to date on current and emerging technologies as well as their business implications
- Excellent negotiation skills
- A strong team-player with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills
- Committed to continuous improvement within the supply chain
- The ability to multitask and identify true priority of those tasks
