Job Description/Requirements
Salary: Expected base pay rate for this role will be between $22.00-$25.00 USD per year at the commencement of employment.
However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.
About the Role
The Original Content Coordinator would be supporting the entire Original Content team with QC, shipping, tracking data and supporting post departments on multiple feature or trailer titles. This position also includes supporting our film technicians in film recording, scanning and assembly.
What You'll Do
- Support the entire Original Content team with QC, shipping and project organization
- Run internal screenings and quality assurance for approval
- Support our Film Technicians with film recording, scanning, and assembly
- Provide early morning/evening/weekend coverage as needed
- Update the Digital database and work orders as new DCPs are created
- Assist with the internal post production pipeline of in-house color and digital mastering teams to optimize the footage for the IMAX theatre network and ancillary markets
- Serve as a point of contact for Original Content titles for questions or concerns
- Track incoming/outgoing data for digital and film-based projects including mastering, pickups, versioning elements, and audio
- Support project management on the team. Maintain project specific documentation of each film's projected schedule and progress through each production milestone. Track department schedules based on vendor deliverables and client expectations
- Support communication with film production teams and outside vendors, the laboratory, and various media suppliers in order to achieve the highest quality films
- When needed, be a runner for the department and pick up/drop off film and drives at various facilities in Los Angeles
- Familiarity and experience with both film and digital post production pipelines
- Strong knowledge of the Post Production workflow including audio mixing, editing and color grading
- Experience with VFX film projects as well as interfacing with VFX and other vendors is a plus
- Successfully demonstrated team-player skills, as well as excellent communication, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with shifting workflows and schedules
- College degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience
- High level skills with Microsoft Office and Clipster
- Excellent visual acuity, with an eye and ear for detail as it relates to quality control
- Film handling (negative and print) experience is a huge plus
