Job Description/Requirements
About the Role
As the HRBP, you will lead the people practices that attract and retain high performance talent to SSIMWAVE for the next stage of our evolution. You should excel in building strong partnerships with leadership across the organization, working with energy & enthusiasm to implement an HR Vision that clearly supports our growth objectives. Please note that this role is in-office, with 3 days at the Sheridan Park office and 2 days at the Waterloo office.
What Y ou'll D o :
- Formulate a bold HR Vision that enables SSIMWAVE's vision & growth objectives
- Build HR strategy that is tightly linked to SSIMWAVE's business strategy. This includes the following:
- Analyze the current state of the organization from a people perspective (people practices including recruiting, team development, organization structure, competencies, skills, and culture)
- Compare current practices to best-in-class software technology companies
- Articulate the future state required to achieve our HR vision & SSIMWAVE's goals
- Clarify supporting workforce plans including roles, structure, remuneration and organizational development to enable growth
- Chart all steps & initiatives to fulfill the HR vision & strategy
- Clearly identify the success criteria and how we will measure success regularly
- Continuously identify & implement highly innovative HR practices to meet changing needs of our business strategy
- Build competitive advantage for SSIMWAVE, unlocking the full potential of employees through innovative recruitment & team training & development practices
- Work closely with management to establish collaborative organizational design practices (organization structure, role design)
- Lead talent acquisition efforts to secure team members that can drive our growth
- Use industry leading practices to specifically target & hire the best This pro-active approach & discipline will accelerate the hiring cycle and requires a technical recruiter mindset and experience
- Strengthen our practices to recruit and retain people that have the attributes to excel
- Embed SSIMWAVE values & desired culture into all aspects of people management
- Experiment with and establish innovative practices for lightweight and effective performance management, thinking outside the box
- Work collaboratively with IMAX to ensure seamless integration of all aspects of HR
- HRPA designation
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Innovative, growth mindset, a changemaker
- Evidence that HR strategy has directly linked to & been a driver of business performance
- Track record of being respected as HR thought leader
- History of partnering closely and collaboratively with all business functions
- Viewed as an equal partner in business decisions with senior leadership team
- Skilled in change management, with proven ability to "bring others along" when introducing new ideas
- Impeccable communication and negotiation skills
