About the Role

iCapital’s expansion into the global marketplace creates an opportunity for a Tax Compliance Vice President or Senior Vice President to join the Fund Finance Central Services team. This position will service hedge and private equity fund of fund and access fund vehicles (the “funds”) in conjunction with third-party administrators and tax preparers to ensure timely tax reporting and communication, as well as drive continuous improvement throughout the processes.

  • Manage the tax compliance function for access funds including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Private Credit, RICs and blocker entities.
  • Lead engagement with external tax service providers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax compliance and reporting outputs.
  • Draft and negotiate tax provisions in white label agreements, partnership agreements, investor PPMs, and sub docs. 
  • Participate in and lead client calls to discuss complex tax structuring, compliance, and operational topics. Provide expert advice and solutions to clients' tax-related queries.
  • Document and maintain structure charts for various global fund structures.
  • Prepare supporting schedules to assist external accounting firms with the preparation of tax estimates, Schedule K-1s, investor state composite elections and tax returns.
  • Coordinate with taxing authorities to resolve federal, state, and local tax audits and notices.
  • Respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders, including Investor Relations, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, investors, and external partners.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between different departments to meet deliverable deadlines. Facilitate the sharing of information and resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Draft thought leadership pieces, white papers, policies, procedures, project plans, and control documents. Contribute to the company's knowledge base and provide valuable insights on tax-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in relevant field; MBA, master’s in taxation or master’s in accounting degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a background in cross-border tax compliance for alternative investment funds and private wealth investors
  • Strong business analysis and project management skills are required
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • financial, tax, or asset management operational experience is preferred
  • Able to communicate complex tax issues clearly and concisely, in a manner targeted at a wide range of audiences
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced demanding environment 
  • Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
  • Well organized, takes initiative, and detail-oriented with capability to see the big picture
  • Experience with managing client expectations and communications, as well as solution development 

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $230,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
