About the Role

iCapital seeks a motivated Payroll professional to join our growing Corporate Finance team. This role will assist the Global Payroll Vice President in managing the company’s current in house and outsourced payrolls, provide payroll insight and services to employees and partners, and help execute related processes and payroll data management.

This individual-contributor position is an outstanding opportunity to gain experience for your payroll career in a global role that rewards versatility, and strong detail-orientation. In addition to payroll administration, this role also offers the opportunity to collaborate on important projects within Corporate Finance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with US, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Portugal, Switzerland, and Japan payrolls.
  • Reconcile all changes that affect pay which include salary adjustments, location changes, leaves, and returns, bonuses and commissions, deductions, and one-time payments such as referral awards, relocation stipends, and severance payments.
  • Review and finalize timesheets for a small population of US non-exempt employees.
  • Manage other pay inputs such as garnishments and deduction corrections as needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with payroll service partners, including correspondence, ad-hoc requests, escalation, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist Global Payroll team with reconciling and approving payrolls timely and accurately, in partnership with Corporate Finance.
  • Manage ongoing state employment tax requirements with tax providers.
  • Assist with global year-end processes to ensure all are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate data for audit responses for periodic internal/external payroll audits and compliance reporting, including 401(k) and Workers Compensation.
  • Be the initial point of contact for all payroll-related issues from employees. Monitor a payroll email inbox and educate employees with clear, helpful responses.
  • Embrace the opportunity to gain experience with new software and improve key processes.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role managing multi-state payroll. Global experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field of study
  • Certified Payroll Certification (CPP) designation is strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and related tools. Experience with automated payroll systems is highly desirable. Dayforce experience is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional diligence and accuracy in handling sensitive data
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll concepts to employees and stakeholders
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with professionalism and integrity
  • High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to evolving payroll practices and technologies

 

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $ 100,000 to $ 140,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
