Your Role and Responsibilities
Join IBM's worldwide Software Product Design and UXR organization where our mission is to empower users to do their best work through intuitive and visually engaging interfaces. As a UX Researcher/ UX Research Intern, you'll play a crucial role in uncovering insights, informing design decisions, and forging new opportunities to improve business outcomes through the rigorous study of people and the ecosystems in which they exist.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifying and communicating appropriate research methodologies to address research opportunity
  • Recruiting appropriate participants for research plans and goals
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies, such as interviews, surveys, competitive analyses, prioritization exercises, concept testing, contextual inquiry, and user journey mapping to gather insights about user behaviors, needs, and preferences.
  • Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights
  • Delivering compelling stories to communicate actionable insights for team and stakeholders
  • Continuously building team understanding and empathy through empirical observation, experience, and making.
  • Identifying and communicating high priority questions and opportunities for research to lead team towards strategic opportunities and tactical improvements [only applicable for ELH role]
  • This position requires working onsite 3 days per week at our Mulhuddart location in Dublin

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • UX Research methodologies: knowledge and/or experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, competitive analyses, prioritization exercises, concept testing, contextual inquiry, and user journey mapping
  • Data analysis: Proficiency in data collection and analysis, and the ability to triangulate customer insights from a combination of data sources to derive meaningful insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to leverage storytelling to effectively convey complex research findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Dynamic Environment: Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering UX research initiatives within an agile product development environment
  • Case studies: Must have at least 2 case studies demonstrating end to end UX research process and be prepared to walk through these during interview.

  • UX Principles: Solid understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and human-centered design processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Passion for user-centered design, empathy for users, and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
