As a Brand Technical Specialist/Technical Sales Engineer you'll be the go-to subject matter expert, collaborating with colleagues across the wider Sales team - advising and supporting on client engagements throughout the entire sales process.

  • Client Strategy Development: Develop client strategies for IBM Cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Solution Definition: Define compatible IBM Cloud solutions.
  • Proof of Concept Creation: Provide proof of concepts and simplify complex technical concepts for client understanding.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Build credibility and trust with stakeholders to facilitate the closing of complex Cloud technology deals
  • This role is crucial in designing and implementing effective information architectures and solutions using IBM products to support the Department's technological and strategic objectives.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of information architecture principles and a strong background in technology solutions, with expertise in leveraging IBM information architecture technologies to address the unique needs of the defense sector.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Technical Expertise and Experience in Data and AI Technologies:

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with IBM's Data and AI products, including their functionalities, integration capabilities, and applications in the defense sector.
  • Understanding of Defense Industry Requirements:
  • Familiarity with the specific needs and challenges of the defense industry, including security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Sales and Business Development Skills: Proven ability to drive sales processes, from identifying opportunities and developing relationships to managing client expectations.
  • Pre-Sales Support and Solution Design:
  • Experience in delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concepts, as well as designing solutions tailored to defense industry requirements.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Ability to produce clear and persuasive documentation, proposals, and reports, and to work collaboratively to address complex client needs and provide customized solutions.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Possession of a current security clearance
  • Project Management Experience:
  • Experience in managing complex projects, including coordinating resources, timelines, and deliverables, particularly in a defense or high-security environment.
  • Knowledge of Defense Regulations and Standards:
  • Understanding of relevant defense industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including ITAR, FISMA, and NIST, to ensure solutions meet compliance requirements.
