Your Role and Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting Technical Consultant-zOS for a 18-month fixed term contract, based in Sydney.
You will be part of an Application Development team that is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of development and enhancements. As an Application Developer/Technical Lead your responsibilities include -

  • Twenty-Three Years of IT industry experience encompassing a wide range of skill sets, roles, and industry verticals.
  • Extensive experience with providing solution, analysis, design, development, customization, and implementation of software applications including Mainframes.
  • Proficient in analysing Warehouse system and the banking applications including Pricing, Trading bank, Housing loan system
  • Proficient in analysing and translating business requirements to technical requirements.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams. Handled multiple roles - SME, Architect, Business Analyst, Team Lead, On-site Coordinator and Developer.
  • Extensively worked on Distributed environment in building and maintenance of applications.
  • Executed software projects in Telecom, Automotive, Shipping, Retail and Banking industries.
  • Sound knowledge in COBOL, DB2, Teradata, IMS and CICS skills and development knowledge.
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, self-motivated, quick learner, team player.
  • Work effectively individually and with team members toward customer satisfaction and success.
  • Create high- and low-level design of Mainframe product as per Westpac standards.
  • Develop design documents and review technical documents from Solution Architects for projects in the Core domain and manage the alignment of the program's architecture to the Bank's Enterprise Architecture.
  • Define technical user stories and track the development activities of the team members
  • Lead workshops and engage stakeholders as required from onshore.
  • Lead and participate in problem solving to deliver large scale changes through process engineering and technology.
  • Design and build deliverables to ensure traceability of the built solution to the architectural principles and business objectives.
  • Be keenly aware of timelines and budgeting to deliver in a timely manner

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills -
  • Manage and lead large and complex Banking project and teams across locations preferably in the Core business domain.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in CORE Banking and Australian Lending processes.
  • 15+ years of experience in most of the layers of application development and Agile methodology.
  • Should stitch together end to end applications either on premises environment or on the Cloud for our clients.
  • Must have Mainframe skills like IMS-DB/DC, PL1, CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, Assembler, Easytrieve, APIs and Cloud Fundamentals.
  • Must have knowledge on IBM ZOS connect, how to create API's, Services, test & deploy them in the server.
  • Must know the tools like Swagger & Postman.
  • Should have vast experience on various skills related to Mainframe tools like, CA7-Job Scheduler, IBM Fault Analyzer, IMS Trace, Debug Tool for Z/OS, CAT for Database Management Solutions for Z/OS, Xporter & SAR Reporting tool, XPEDITOR, File-Aid, CPSM-CICSPlex SM Web User Interface (WUI).
  • Mandatorily required Problem & Change Management tools like, Service Now, Remedy, IT Service Portal, HP Service Centre, and Quality Centre & ALM.
  • Required knowledge of Programming Tools - IBM Explorer for z/OS and z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition - Experienced, ADDI Essentials and Mainframe Modernization tools.
  • Must have Extensive knowledge with Agile and SCRUM. Should have played the role of Scrum Master.
  • Must have Banking domain certification, ITIL certification and Agile certification (prefer SAFe Agile).
