Your Role and Responsibilities

The Business Analyst / Systems Specialist with JEXL scripting & general programming abilities will work on Process Automation solutions internally with the business process & engineering teams to configure a robust payroll application that deals primarily with data validation for input / output files. Helping with the development of complex business logic and data validation code will be at the core of this role, as this coding will support our client's global payroll platform. The candidate must have strong communication skills, business and IT analysis and requirement/need assessment skills. Candidates should have the ability to understand scripting language snippets (conditions/loops/variables/types/methods invocations/simple data structures - as array/list, dictionary/map). JEXL scripting language is similar to JavaScript and operates behind the scene (translates) on Java objects, so familiarity with java object syntax and methods invocation is preferred.

Scope of responsibilities

  • Analyze Internal Product and Client specific requirements and create the project functional specifications
  • Support the execution of data conversion activities for a large scale third party application implementation in the scope
  • The resource will spend extensive time developing complex business rules and validation using JEXL scripting, JavaScript, and other integration technologies
  • Provide guidance for users on the tool efficiently and effectively
  • Develop and test Workflows and Automated Processes, Templates and System Integration adaptors
  • Unit test developed code. Develop procedures for independently testing code developed
  • Development and implementation of best practices and process optimization
  • Ability to troubleshoot nonstandard errors during the key payroll periods

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 1 year of general programming experience (JavaScript, Java, VB Script, VBA or JEXL)
  • Proficiency in advance Excel functions
  • Knowledge and understanding of Unit Testing and UATs
  • The ability to manage critical timelines with multiple teams
  • Strong process improvement skills
  • Strong communication both written and spoken in English
