Your role and responsibilities

• Ensuring IBM Philippines' compliance with all taxation laws and regulations, including timely and accurate tax filings and payments (i.e. corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect tax as well as local taxes), and ensuring appropriate tax positions are adopted.
• Assistance in tax Authority relationship management, including managing and handling of tax audits, preparing responses, and liaising with tax authorities on relevant tax issues as required.
• Ensuring accurate recording of Income Taxes and Indirect Taxes for USGAAP and local GAAP Reporting purposes.
• Providing practical tax solutions and tax advisory support to IBM Philippines' Business Units and Enterprise Support Functions, including working cross-functionally with IBM Legal, Treasury, Accounting, Finance & Operations teams to meet IBM's Global Tax strategic objectives.
• Assistance in managing tax legislation and controversial developments in the Philippines, including ensuring legislative and judicial developments are assessed and communicated to internal stakeholders, and supporting lobbying efforts.
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in IBM's tax procedures.
• Assistance in researching, analyzing, and implementing tax planning opportunities, mergers & acquisition activities, and various internal reporting from IBM's Corporate Headquarters and Global Tax Team.
• Ensuring compliance with IBM's Tax Controls Framework and Tax Policies.
• Assistance in managing relationships with external service providers such as tax and legal advisors as required.

• Minimum 5 years relevant tax experience, with extensive Philippine direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory experience including managing tax compliance for multiple legal entities, in-depth knowledge of Philippines corporate income taxes, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and a working knowledge of employment taxes.
• Candidate should have strong skills and background in tax accounting, compliance & tax operations with relevant Big 4 experience. Experience in tax advocacy or in-house tax experience within a large multinational enterprise is an advantage.
• A hands-on approach, self-starter with attention to detail and learning agility is required.
• Having a commercial outlook, strong business acumen and an awareness of risk is required.
• Strong teaming and communication skills with a collaborative mindset is required to continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and solution implementation.
• Candidate should hold formal qualifications in Accounting / Tax or Law
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
