Your role and responsibilities

The Spot/Tactical Buyer, working within the IBM Procurement BPO environment, is responsible for supporting the procurement function for an external client. This role requires a blend of analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage sourcing projects, negotiate contracts, and maintain compliance with procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies tailored to the client's needs.

• Conduct comprehensive market research and supplier evaluations, including requesting proposals, assessing quotations, and performing due diligence.

• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring terms and conditions align with the client's requirements and guidelines.

• Manage procurement-related projects and tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, legal, and operations, to understand specific requirements and provide appropriate procurement solutions.

• Maintain accurate records and generate detailed reports on procurement activities, costs, and outcomes.

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, including legal and ethical considerations.

• Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supplier relationship development.

• Stay updated on industry trends and procurement best practices to inform decision-making and contribute to the ongoing growth of the procurement function.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a BPO environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, and tools.
  • Proven ability to conduct market research, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and ethical conduct.
  • Experience or awareness of ERP systems like Ariba, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Taulia, Scout, Fieldglass, JIRA, ServiceNow, SAP phire, Sirion, etc.,
