Your role and responsibilities
The success of a digital transformation depends on the ability of developers to build applications with innovative capabilities and deliver them quickly and to accelerate developer productivity and the adoption of new cloud-native technologies. Containers, Kubernetes, and microservices deliver speed and simplicity and are being adopted rapidly.
But, your current estate determines your modernization strategy. Rewriting your entire application estate isn't feasible, so modernization is inevitable.
As a deeply technical seller, you'll increase your partners' technical capabilities by enabling their sales and technical sellers to experientially demonstrate IBM Technology at scale with your clients.
Key responsibilities include:
• Automation Expertise:
o Serve as the go-to technical expert on application integration solutions, methodologies, and best practices.
o Demonstrate a strong understanding of AIOps technologies, including AI-driven monitoring, automation, and analytics for IT operations.
• Technical Sales Consultation:
o Understand the architectural changes required to transition monolithic applications to containers and establish a solution-based architecture that meets the needs of your customers.
o Engage with potential customers to understand their business needs related to application integration and IT Automation adoption.
o Offer personalized technical advice and solution recommendations to address customer challenges effectively.
• Product Knowledge and Demonstration:
o Develop an in-depth understanding of IBM's related products and services.
o Conduct product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and advantages of application integration and IT Automation solutions based on AI.
• • Illustrate how these solutions can be tailored and integrated to meet specific customer requirements.
• Technical & Industry Expertise :
o Maintaining up to date knowledge of technology, industry and trends to articulate the value of IBM products vs competitors. Presenting highly contextual insights into the benefits of emerging technology adoption
o Using technology expertise, experimental tools, appropriate architectural methods, thinking, processes, models and assets, to guide all solution design decisions and delivery of solutions to meet and exceed the business objectives of our clients' better
• • Manage, coordinate and leverage Partner ecosystem resources, if applicable, to drive business value for the client
Required education

Required technical and professional expertise
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a technical sales role, with a focus on application modernization and/or IT Automation solutions.
• Deep knowledge of application integration principles, middleware, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with AIOps technologies and platforms, such as AI-driven monitoring, automation, and analytics tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Analytical mindset to identify customer needs and propose data-driven solutions for IT operational challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and technical teams.
• Project management experience and certifications (e.g., PMP) would be advantageous.
As an Automation Architect, you will play a critical role in guiding customers towards optimizing their application modernization and IT operations through seamless application integration and AI-driven automation. Your technical expertise and ability to position application integration and IT Automation solutions as transformative tools will be essential in achieving sales targets and establishing the organization as a trusted provider of advanced IT operational solutions.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Automation Market Expertise: Demonstrating expertise in the Automation market and establishing trust as a valued advisor for clients.
- Numerous external seminar presentations.
- Experience using automation tools. e.g. IaC (Terraform, Ansible), Observability or AIOps Tools.
- Container and Kubernetes technologies for application modernization.
- Fluent in speaking and writing English.
