Introduction
IBM is seeking talented and motivated Software Developers to work as a Development (Engineering) Manager on the Maximo family of products. In this role, you will be the personnel manager for a 15-20 person team and responsible for building a culture of high performance trust, inclusively and fun. You'll closely collaborate with the broader Development & Support team to manage delivery of our offering roadmap. It's expected that you have enough relevant technical experience to provide guidance to your team and help unblock progress from both technical and managerial front. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how the industry leading Enterprise Asset life cycle management suite of products works and to learn from a large team of very talented engineers.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager, you'll manage software development, enhance product experiences, and scale our team's capabilities. You'll manage careers, streamline hiring, collaborate with product, and drive innovation. We seek proactive professionals passionate about team growth, software architecture, coding, and process enhancements. Mastery of frameworks, deployment tech, and cloud APIs is essential as well as adaptability to innovative technologies. Your primary responsibilities include: Solution Development: Lead the development of innovative solutions to enhance our product and development experience, effectively contributing to making our software better. Team Growth and Management: Manage the career growth of team members, scale hiring and development processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Strategic Partnership: Partner with product teams to brainstorm ideas and collaborate on delivering an exceptional product, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Technical Direction: Provide technical guidance by actively participating in architectural discussions, developing code, and advocating for new process improvements to drive innovation and efficiency.
In this role as a Software Development Manager and you coming with Backend/Fullstack developer skills, you will closely collaborate with other developers, UX designers and product managers using Scrum agile methodology, to develop new product capabilities and enhance existing features of the MAS applications. You will be leading a team of 15 to 20 people software developers and give them technical and managerial directions.

Required technical and professional expertise
- 15+ Years of experience
- Personnel management, Team management,
- Customer facing experience including verbal and written communication and flexibility to accommodate customer's needs
- Agile development methodologies
- Strong SQL / NoSQL database technologies including Mongo, DB2, DB2 warehouse and Oracle
- Git and Jira
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes & Open Shift
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud computing platforms.
- Data Pipeline Proficiency: Familiarity with data pipelining solutions.
- Strong Analytics background with stong hold on database (structured and unstructured) and IOT systems
