India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far.

While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps.

Your role and responsibilities

We are IBM ZOS (Z Operating System, DFSMS - Data Facility for Storage Management Subsystem), professional working on Z Enterprise Systems and we build the most secure systems for our Banking and Enterprise customers to deploy their mission critical applications. Also, We provide atmost security and Data management on Z systems. The mission critical applications run on zOS and all the data menagement is taken care by a product called DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem). DFSMS is a system software running on zOS platform which manages the DATA - End-to-end. It manages all kind of storage like Flash Systems, Disk Storage, SAN Storage, Tape Storage and Network Attached Storage and seemless moves the data across various storage based on the Data storage policy/management. Our IBM z/OS customers heavily rely on the stability of the DFSMS product and new innovative features which can enhance thier user experience and bring in effeciency.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• 7+ years of relevant experience

- Experience with the Software Development life cycle; coding, unit test, function or component test, system test and

integration test

Demonstrated execution experience of Systems project development

- Strong programming skills in C (Willingness to learn Assembler and IBM high level PLX language ) , PLX, JCL, Assembly, Rexx, Java, Javascript, Unix system scripting Shell/Python.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting

- Ability to learn new tools quickly

- Good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.

- Able to guide a team of lesser experienced professionals

Preferred technical and professional experience

zOS architecture, System programming

• Familiar with z/OS and z/VM

• Programming languages: MVS JCL, REXX,

• Dump reading using Interactive Problem Control System (IPCS). Ability to interpret logs and dumps

• GIT

• JIRA

• Rational Team Concert (RTC)
