Introduction
This position provides the opportunity to work in a high growth area in the IBM Software - IT Automation division. The successful candidate will work with our IBM Tivoli Network Manager (ITNM) product, contributing to product development, enhancement and maintenance including triaging and debugging of customer complaints and providing solutions in collaboration with support team.
Your role and responsibilities
The role provides opportunity to develop ITNM features especially in GUI and Integration modules using various front end and backend technologies including Java, Java script, JSP, ASP.net etc. Also there is scope for technical support assistance directly (remote sessions / phone/ live chat / cognitive support platform) to clients, using problem determination and analytical skills. • Own customer request for enhancements (RFEs), Modernization & Serviceability improvements and deliver results in timely manner.
• Analyze and understand requirements, Plan implementation schedule, Develop, Unit test, Document and deliver changes to customers.
• Work on defect fixing and provide resolution to customer reported bugs (known issues) and internally found bugs.
• Provide dev triage to customer reported issues (PMRs) that support team can't resolve and find solutions.
• Look for avenues to recommend, or implement, new solutions or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, or processes.
• Collaborate with other development and support teams to find appropriate solutions.
• Communicate with the team and management regularly and keep them updated of the status and progress.
• Participate in department objectives such as building the knowledge base, improving serviceability, mentoring team members, and contributing to high customer satisfaction.

Required technical and professional expertise
3-5 years of hands-on experience as UI development engineer or software development engineer
- Strong development skills in technologies like Java, JavaScript, XML with exposure to any Javascript framework like Dojo framework, Struts or springs.
- Working experience with Linux related platforms, DB technology such as DB2/Oracle, GitHub & JIRA etc
- Understanding for core telecom domain, EMS/NMS or SNMP device networks and exposure to REST/SOAP APIs
- Good communication skills and analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experience with Netcool products like ITNM, NCM
- Exposure to containerization technologies like Kubernetes, OCP, Podman etc
- Additional good to have skills Python, perl, JSP
