In the beginning, you will go through an education process specific your job role. As you complete your learning, your duties will focus on applying DevOps tools and principles to automating the development and release processes of webMethods products.

• Directly serving IBM's webMethods product development and test groups
• Learn to enhance, maintain, and support our current webMethods products
• Develop, test, and deploy tools and services to assist the webMethods products during their lifecycle of development and test activities - development 'nightly' builds and final product release for external customers.
• Preparing, running, monitoring, and resolving the results of modern Jenkins and GitHub workflow pipelines
• Ongoing modernization efforts - work with your team and sponsored users to design and deliver improvements to existing processes and create novel additions
The team has regular release cycle deliverables and works together to get the work done right and on-time. We are building the team with new skills and need to take our deep operational expertise and translate that into new automation pipelines for use by the development and test teams which we serve.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in any scripting languages: Bash shell, Python, and Groovy/Java
- Acquired knowledge of industry standard technologies including Git, Jenkins Pipelines, GitHub workflows and/or an automated build tool such as maven and gradle
- Acquired knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile patterns
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with the most popular cloud providers - Azure, AWS, GCP
- Experience in software development.
- Experience writing microservices or automating operations using jobs and scripts - can be a mix of back-end and DevOps or SRE background
