1. Strategic Leadership
- Define Analytics Strategy: Align SAP analytics solutions with the company's overall business goals and strategies. Ensure that analytics capabilities are leveraged to enhance decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the point of contact for executives, department heads, and end-users to understand business requirements and define analytics roadmaps.
- Advise on SAP Analytics Products: Provide expertise on various SAP analytics tools like SAP BW (Business Warehouse), SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and SAP BusinessObjects.
- Lead SAP Analytics Projects: Manage end-to-end project lifecycle, from planning and requirement gathering to implementation and support.
- Resource Planning: Ensure the availability of the right technical resources and skillsets to deliver analytics projects successfully.
- Risk Management: Identify risks in analytics projects and establish mitigation plans.
- Technical Solution Design: Lead the design and development of SAP analytics architectures and data models, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Data Integration: Oversee the integration of various data sources into SAP systems like SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, and external data sources.
- Tool Selection & Architecture: Choose appropriate SAP analytics tools (SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.) and ensure they are architecturally sound.
- Lead Analytics Team: Manage a team of SAP developers, data architects, and analysts. Provide guidance, technical mentorship, and support.
- Training & Development: Ensure continuous development of the team through training in SAP tools and emerging analytics trends.
- Data Governance: Implement data governance policies to ensure that data is accurate, secure, and accessible within SAP systems.
- Data Quality Management: Monitor data quality, working with data stewards to ensure data consistency and reliability across systems.
- Hands-on Expertise: Although primarily a leadership role, there may be times when the SAP Analytics Lead will need to step in and provide technical expertise in data modeling, reporting, or analytics development.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve high-level technical issues, performance problems, and integration challenges related to SAP analytics systems.
- Development of Reports and Dashboards: Oversee the design and development of SAP-based reports and dashboards (e.g., using SAP Analytics Cloud or BusinessObjects) that provide insights to stakeholders.
- KPI Monitoring: Ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are tracked and reported correctly across the organization.
- Optimize Existing Solutions: Identify areas for optimization in current SAP analytics deployments, such as improving performance, reducing costs, or increasing functionality.
- Adopt New Technologies: Stay updated with the latest SAP analytics tools and innovations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAC) and recommend upgrades or migrations where necessary.
- Ensure Compliance: Work with security and compliance teams to ensure that the analytics platforms meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
- Security Implementation: Implement security measures within SAP analytics systems to ensure data privacy and protection against breaches.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as finance, sales, and HR, to understand their data needs and ensure they are met through the SAP analytics tools.
- Collaboration with SAP Basis & Infrastructure Teams: Ensure the SAP analytics systems work seamlessly with the underlying infrastructure, including databases and cloud environments.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Deep SAP Knowledge: A thorough understanding and minimum of 10 year of the SAP landscape, including modules like SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and data migration tools such as SAP Data Services, or any other migration tools
- Data Management: Strong understanding of master data, transactional data, and data governance principles. Executed minimum of 5 E2E go-lives.
- ETL Process: Experience with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, especially in SAP environments.
- Data Architecture: Understanding of database management, data integration, and the overall architecture of how data flows within SAP systems.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience working with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD or PM and Master Data.
