Your Role and Responsibilities
We are Firmware professional working on Z systems ( IBM Advanced Mainframes ) and we build the most secure systems for our customers to deploy their enterprise applications. IBM z Systems are deployed with workloads where intensive IO Operations are getting executed. IBM Lab works on IO enablement firmware as well as boot firmware for z Servers. Work area would be Initial program load that is Boot firmware which enables the z Systems to boot and load supported Operating systems( Linux, zOS, zVM ) on Logical partitions. There are teams which works on firmware development of Platform management systems which are used to facilitate the users to interact with Z systems.

Your primary responsibilities include:
- Solution Development: Lead the development of innovative solutions to enhance our product and development experience, effectively contributing to making our software better.
- Team Growth and Management: Manage the career growth of team members, scale hiring and development processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Strategic Partnership: Partner with product teams to brainstorm ideas and collaborate on delivering an exceptional product, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Technical Direction: Provide technical guidance by actively participating in architectural discussions, developing code, and advocating for new process improvements to drive innovation and efficiency.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Management Experience: Expertise both as a people manager and an individual contributor. Managing teams of size as large as 15 - 25 members in area of firmware/software, development/testing
- Agile Management: Proven track-record as a technical advisor in multiple projects within an agile environment. Project Planning, Resource planning, mitigating risks, assessing risks well ahead
- Scalable Solution Design: Firsthand experience in designing and implementing scalable SaaS-based solutions.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Z projects management skills, working with global teams, managing risks, System BUP
