Senior Fault Tolerant Quantum Algorithms Researcher

Cambridge, MA

Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a theoretical research scientist with IBM Quantum, your job will be to advance the field of quantum computing by developing new methods and insights that shape and execute on the IBM quantum roadmap. We are looking for researchers focused on long term algorithms development: areas of research could include quantum error correction, fault tolerant algorithms, quantum information theory, and compilation.Senior researchers are expected to develop a broad research agenda and influence IBM research strategy by leading strategic research projects, defining objectives and key results, and providing feedback to align projects with overall research priorities. Senior researchers also contribute to internal growth of the team by influencing hiring decisions, serving as a mentor to junior researchers, creating growth opportunities for teammates, and may manage a team.
