Your role and responsibilities

As a Delivery Consultant, you will work closely with IBM clients and partners to design, deliver, and optimize IBM Technology solutions that align with your clients' goals. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery while leveraging your consultative skills such as problem-solving issue- / hypothesis-based methodologies, communication, and service orientation skills. Solving Client Challenges Effectively: Understanding clients' main challenges and developing solutions that helps them reach true business value by working thru the phases of design, development integration, implementation, migration and product support with a sense of urgency . Agile Planning and Execution: Creating and executing agile plans where you are responsible for installing and provisioning assets, testing, migrating to production, and day-two operations. Technical Solution Workshops: Conducting and participating in technical solution workshops. Building Effective Relationships: Developing successful relationships at all levels -from engineers to CxOs-with experience of navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions. Self-Motivated Problem Solver: Demonstrating a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions. Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer (10+ years) with a strong background in automation, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps workflows. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Shell Scripting, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, monitoring automation, and Git repositories.

This role requires working under tight deadlines, collaborating with global teams, and integrating monitoring tools with Slack, PagerDuty, and other alerting systems. The ideal candidate should take complete ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring smooth execution and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End DevOps Implementation: Architect and implement scalable DevOps solutions, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure automation.
• Advanced Automation & Scripting: Develop and optimize automation workflows using Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift Administration: Manage large-scale Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters, ensuring security, high availability, and cost efficiency.
• Monitoring & Observability: Design and automate monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Instana, ELK, or Splunk, integrating alerts with Slack, PagerDuty, or Opsgenie.
• Incident Response & Alerting: Implement automated incident response mechanisms with PagerDuty, Slack, and webhook integrations.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Helm charts, IBM Schematics, or Ansible.
• Git Repository Management: Work extensively with Git repositories, GitHub/GitLab issues, and maintain well-structured repositories with proper branching strategies.
• Cloud & Hybrid Cloud Expertise: Architect cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or GCP, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security compliance.
• Incident Management & SRE Practices: Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and implementation of SRE principles to enhance system reliability.
• Security & Compliance: Implement DevSecOps best practices, enforcing security policies within Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ownership & Accountability: Take complete ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring timely execution, issue resolution, and proactive monitoring.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Guide junior engineers, conduct training sessions, and drive DevOps culture and best practices within the team.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, and cloud infrastructure.

- Expert-level proficiency in Shell Scripting, Python, and Ansible for automation.

- Extensive experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift administration - scaling, security, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipeline automation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Tekton.

- Deep understanding of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Instana, ELK, and Splunk.

- Experience in incident alerting integration with Slack, PagerDuty, and webhook-based automation.

- Hands-on experience in managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or GCP).

- Proficiency in Git, GitHub/GitLab issues, and repository management.

- Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.

- Ability to work in shifts and collaborate with global teams across different time zones.

- Takes full ownership of assigned tasks and proactively works on improvements.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Network Management on Cloud - Optimizing network performance, security, and connectivity across AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or GCP.
• Backup and Restore Strategy - Strong understanding of Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for disaster recovery planning.
• Instana Monitoring Solution - Implementing and automating monitoring, observability, and alerting.
• CI/CD & DevOps Tools - Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and other DevOps automation tools.
• Visual Studio Code (VS Code) - Working efficiently in VS Code IDE for development and automation tasks.
• Automation using Monday.com - Streamlining workflows and task automation on Monday.com for project and task management.
