IBM Researchでは基礎研究から応用研究まで幅広い研究開発活動を行なっています。中でもIBM Research内に設立されたIBM Semiconductorsという部門では、現在世界的にも注目を集めている半導体に関するハードウェアとソフトウェアの研究開発を行っていて、世界をリードする成果を挙げています。

この半導体に関する研究開発を加速するために、インターン学生を募集します。半導体のロジック設計、回路設計、実装• パッケージング技術、シミュレーション技術、半導体生産を管理するITシステムのソフトウェア開発、半導体プロセスに関するデータサイエンス、が主な活躍のテーマとなります。Gate-All-Around nano-sheetトランジスタなどの2nmプロセステクノロジーの研究開発は、米国ニューヨーク州のアルバニーの研究拠点にて実施されますが、日本IBMも米国の研究員と共にワンチームとして技術開発を進めています。インターン期間中は、前述の技術領域のどれかのプロジェクトに参加し、日本IBMの研究員と共に課題解決に取り組み、IBM Researchの研究開発の一端を経験できます。扱うテーマと情報によってはグローバルのメンバとも技術ディスカッションを行う場合もあります。

期間:2025年4月〜12月(応相談)

勤務時間:9時~17時36分 (基本• 応相談)

勤務事業所:新川崎事業所、箱崎事業所、京都事業所

日給:

「18,000円(修士)」/「20,000円(博士)」(住宅手当なし)

「24,000円(修士)」/「26,000円(博士)」(住宅手当あり)

通勤費支給

This position is for IBM Japan.

IBM Research is one of the world's largest and most influential corporate research labs, from fundamental science & technology research to industrial applied research. Especially, IBM Semiconductors in IBM Research is focused on the most advanced semiconductor R&D, leading with the cutting edge technologies and attracting many attentions in the world.

To accelerate the semiconductor R&D, we are seeking intern students. Current focus areas are, 1) semiconductor logic and circuit design, 2) advanced packaging and chiplet, 3) simulation technology, 4) software development for IT system controlling the semiconductor fab, and 5) data science for semiconductor. Although the Gate-All-Around nano-sheet transistors are being developed at Albany research site in New York in US, researchers in IBM Japan are working together with the US members as one team. During the intern period, the intern student will participate in one of the five projects mentioned above, work with IBM Japan members to solve the problems, and experience the world-class global IBM Research activities. Depending on the information and theme, the intern student may discuss with the global team directly.

Period:April 2025 to December 2025 (can be negotiated)

Time:9:00~17:36 (default)

Reduced working hours can be negotiated.

Place: Shin-Kasawaki Lab, Hakozaki Lab, Kyoto Lab

Daily Salary:

18,000yen (for master's)」/20,000yen (for doctoral students)」(in case housing allowance is unnecessary)

24,000yen (for master's)」/26,000yen (for doctoral students)」(including housing allowance)

Daily commuting cost will be paid.

Long distance transportation cost to come to the labs is not separately paid.

For foreign residents coming to Japan to participate in our internship, please apply at least 4 months prior to the desired start date in order to prepare for the VISA. In addition, the internship period must be at least 3 months. (This does not apply to foreign students living in Japan.)
